Properties:

Pale yellow powder or pale yellow crystalline powder, decompose with exposed to light. Slightly hygroscopic. Its solution in the mixture of chloroform : methanol = 8:2 shows property of dextrorotation. Slightly soluble in ethanol or chloroform. Practically insoluble in water. Soluble in dilute alkali solution.
